A New Gift of Nature for Nova Scotia—Preserving our Legacy with American Friends

A landmark conservation easement protects land in Nova Scotia and provides an exciting new opportunity for landowners.

Thanks to the generosity and pioneering spirit of landowner Merloyd Lawrence, Nova Scotia has received a very special gift—a gift of nature. Merloyd Lawrence, a Boston area resident with a long history in the conservation world and an abiding passion for Nova Scotia, has donated a conservation easement which protects forever her 130-acre lakeshore property in southwest Nova Scotia. And thanks to this landmark gift, other American friends of nature, and of Nova Scotia, have a new tool for protecting the lands they love.
