Details
The Nature Trust has launched an adventure to “the ends of the earth” to support land conservation in Nova Scotia. The Steele Subaru Expedition for the Earth will take outdoor enthusiasts on a wilderness trek in Patagonia to raise funds to protect wilderness in Nova Scotia.
The exciting new initiative was officially launched today with the expedition’s title sponsor, Steele Subaru, at the grand opening of the new Subaru dealership in Halifax.
Rob Steele, owner of Steele Auto Group said, “We are pleased and proud to be title sponsor for this Expedition; the work of the NS Nature Trust is critical to the future of our province and we welcome the opportunity to assist in their efforts – it’s a perfect fit with the Subaru corporate spirit."
Expedition for the Earth follows the “think global, act local” philosophy. Participants will experience and explore some of the world’s most spectacular national parks and protected areas, while raising funds to protect nature in their own backyard.
The inaugural expedition is to Patagonia, Chile, where hikers will trek through the spectacular volcanoes, mountains and glaciers of Torres del Paine National Park, a UNESCO protected biosphere reserve on the southern-most tip of South America.
